Description:

Day 1

Workshop Theory (1 hour), Warm up and handstand progressions (2 hours)

Part One: Explains The technique of “whole body positioning” - from fingers to toes aiming to achieve a perfectly straight handstand. We will also discuss the free handstand positioning:

-Body Tightness

-Finger Tips

-Core Engagement and Strength

-Breathing Technique

-Inner Sight Self Connection and Control

Part Two: Warming up the whole body based working flexibility, mobility and strength. This section focuses heavily on shoulders and wrists.

Part Three: Handstand Progression -

This section helps students to build confidence on standing upside down. By demonstrating and reinforcing confidence from the very start. Working with up to 10 main handstand progressions on the wall(dynamic and static positions). Spotting and differences entries to handstand included.

Miguel will show the most common body positions mistake based on his own methods and techniques with support and encourage each individual to progress until they are able to jump into a free handstand in the FUTURE.

For advanced students, Miguel will be ADVISING similar progressions but instead of leaning on the wall to free handstand practice.

Part Four: An outline of Miguel’s unique core strengthening exercise sequence.

Day 2 and Day 3

Practice (2.5 hours), Theory (30 minutes)

On the second & third day, we will be putting the previous day’s teachings into practice by making sure that everyone has learned the correct techniques and answering all questions the students may have. The purpose of these two sections is primarily applying Day 1’s theory into action-based practice.

Part One: Checking in: Before we begin the practice section, Miguel will check with students to find out how they feel about the first day’s theory and to answer any quick questions or concerns they may have.

Part Two: Warming up the whole body based on flexibility, mobility and strength. This section focuses heavily on shoulders and wrists.

Part Three: Handstand Progressions (UP to 10 differentes postions from the first day on and off the wall if applicable)

Part Four: Core Training -

Miguel’s unique core strengthening exercise sequence. This section is devoted to getting the most out of the 15-minute strenuous core stabilisation method. The core is the base and power of the body, therefore maintaining a well-conditioned core is essential to achieving a stable handstand.

Part Five: Wrapping Up -

This is the opportunity for final questions. Miguel will be demonstrating and re-emphasising certain sections of the previous teachings to make sure that each and every student leaves feeling confident and secure with their individual practice. Confidence is key.
