The workshop will begin with a comprehensive exploration of handstand theory, warm-up techniques, and handstand progressions.
I will break down the essential components of achieving your best straight handstand, including hand positions, shoulder elevation, core engagement, and breathing techniques.
You will also learn about different handstand variations and positions, such as open shoulders, closed shoulders, straight handstand, and more.
Throughout the workshop, you will engage in specific warm-up exercises focusing on flexibility, mobility, and strength, with a particular emphasis on shoulders and wrists. Bring your own resistance band for the shoulder warm-up section.
Handstand progressions will be practiced both on the wall and off the wall, with small group sessions tailored to each student's level.
I will guide you through alignment drills, entry to handstands, handstand shapes, one-arm handstands, and conditioning exercises like press to handstand and handstand push-ups.
At the end of each day, there will be a core strengthening and shoulder strengthening sequence to support your handstand practice. I will conclude the workshop by addressing any final questions, demonstrating key techniques, and ensuring every participant feels confident in their individual practice.
